Before 1888, there was no embankment here — just a working riverbank, and Rome’s river port, handling the boats that supplied the city before there were reliable roads. The people who worked that port and that river had their own name: fiumaroli. Fishermen, boatmen, swimmers, men who made a living pulling things — cargo, sometimes people — out of the water. When the walls went up to control the Tiber’s floods, the port disappeared within a few years. The trade disappeared with it. The word didn’t: older Romans still use it for anyone who belongs to the river more than to the city around it.

The room is also supplied with a hot drink kettle station, a mini-bar full of Italian specialties, organic and gluten-free produce. A fine selection of wines is available to be enjoyed in the room. A cot can be added by request.

We use to pamper our guests with a freed buffet always available in the lounge area to enjoy the moments inside the Guest House and retreat with an espresso or a piece of ricotta and visciole pie. Also vegan and gluten free options.

- Upon check-in a photo ID and credit card is required.
- Upon arrival, room and main gate keys will be provided to access the property. Keys must be returned at the departure, A penalty of € 50.00 is required in case of loss or breakage.
- Guests are kindly requested to report any failure or breakage upon arrival, any breakage or damage will be charged.
- The customer is responsible for all the items and furnishings in the rooms, any breakage or damage will be charged.
- Inside the room a safety deposit box is available. Management is not responsible for any personal items left unattended in their room.
