Francesca Ponziani was born in Trastevere in 1384, into a family whose houses stood in this same stretch of the neighborhood. She could have lived the quiet life expected of a noblewoman of her class. Instead, in 1425, she opened a hospital for the sick and the poor a few steps from here — one that’s still standing, still in use, six centuries later. Rome eventually made her its patron saint, alongside Peter and Paul. But she started as a woman of this exact riverbank, doing something practical for the people living on it.

Large room with a panoramic view on the Tiber river designed with particular attention to details: large double padded memory foam bed, custom crafted furnishings, solid hardwood flooring and vaulted ceiling. Featuring a private bathroom with a gres tile finish made by Italian designers, and a 120cm double sensory shower for two people with a wide rainfall shower head and LED lighting.
Equipped with 32” Smart TV with fast fiber Wi-Fi and Pay TV with free Netflix, free WiFi, air conditioning, electronic safe, hairdryer and luxury vanity set range, blankets, 100% Italian cotton, bath towels. The room is also supplied with a hot drink kettle station, a mini-bar with a selection of Italian specialties and organic and gluten free products. A fine selection of wines is available to be enjoyed in the room. A cot can be added by request.

Late check-in (after 6pm) is subject to a 20 € surcharge and for approval by the property No arrivals after 11.00 am are allowed.

- Upon check-in a photo ID and credit card is required.
- Upon arrival, room and main gate keys will be provided to access the property. Keys must be returned at the departure, A penalty of € 50.00 is required in case of loss or breakage.
- Guests are kindly requested to report any failure or breakage upon arrival, any breakage or damage will be charged.
- The customer is responsible for all the items and furnishings in the rooms, any breakage or damage will be charged.
- Inside the room a safety deposit box is available. Management is not responsible for any personal items left unattended in their room.

Room cleaning: Room cleaning is done every morning from 10.30 am.
The bed linen and towels are replaced every three days (daily upon request with a service charge).
Children and extra beds: Palazzo Baj is a family friendly facility and children are warmly welcome, so all children under 3 years stay for free (using cots) or in bed together with their parents. A maximum of 1 cot per room is allowed. On request is also available 24 h baby-feeding service provided with early childhood products.
